For purposes of clarity we have attempted to categorize the links included here, but please note that just about all of them have a tremendous amount of informational material for both the new and experienced llama owner. There is no way we could ever hope to include all the great sites out there but one tool which should not be overlooked are the individual links pages which are included in most all the organizational and personal web sites listed below. By following various links to even more links, you will uncover an amazing amount of helpful information! SELR is comprised of individual members who are often associated with various regional organizations. These organizations also offer various forms of invaluable support. We routinely order supplies from sites listed here and have received support from every vendor listed! If you have a web site you feel should be included here, contact our webmaster with the information and the category you feel is appropriate. National Organizations:Alpaca & Llama Show Association: http://www.alsashow.org/ Alpaca Fiber Cooperative of North America: http://www.afcna.com/ International Llama Registry: http://www.lamaregistry.com/ Llama Association of North America: http://www.llamainfo.org/ International Camelid Institute: www.internationalcamelidinstitute.org Pack Llama Trial Association: www.packllama.org Regional Organizations:Regional organizations are a great resource for information, help and support. We encourage everyone to join an association if at all possible. Lots of great folks and fun activities. These sites usually have current information related to veterinary services specific to camelids as well. Rather than individually list these organization, we will refer you to Mount Lehman Llamas which has a very robust list of existing organizations: http://www.mountlehmanllamas.com/links.html If you do not see an organization close to your location, you may find that something will turn up if you do an Internet search for “llama organization your state or region” (Example: “llama organization Tennessee” promptly turned up the Tennessee Llama Community). Note: For those folks who live in the Southern U.S, as of 2007, the Southern States Llama Association (SSLA) has partnered with SELR to offer a free year’s membership upon adoption of a SELR llama (one membership per family). This is a great way to immerse yourself in the wonderful world of llamas, as they have a lot of wide-ranging events that should interest the whole family. Reference www.SSLA.org to see what they are about. | |||||||||||||
